Support our superstar! thumbnailThe poster which St Patrick’s College Principal Ann Sands has printed and sent to EVERY school in Northern Ireland, urging the country to get behind schoolboy Eoghan Quigg in his live television debut this Saturday on ITV.

X-FACTOR finalist Eoghan Quigg will have the whole of Northern Ireland behind him as he steps onto the ITV shows stage on Saturday if his High School principal has her way!
The St. Patrick's College Head Ann Sands has sent posters and flyers around to EVERY school in Northern Ireland urging kids and staff to vote for the talented teen as he takes to the live stage this week.
The Dungiven principal says staff at the small secondary school have been "flat out" since Sunday night posting flyers, sending letters and giving out posters to encourage the public to vote for the 16-year-old star.
The school have even ordered in car flags emblazoned with the teenager's name.
“We realise that all the votes from Dungiven alone are not going to keep Eoghan in the competition," says Mrs Sands "So that's why we're asking for the support from all the schools in Northern Ireland. We want to establish contact from all over."
The 16-year-old cried tears of joy when multi-millionare music mogul Simon Cowell told him on Sunday night that he had sung his way to the ITV hit shows live finals due to air on prime time Saturday night TV.
Vowing to put his hometown on the map, Eoghan told X-Factor presenter Dermot O'Leary that it was "the best day of (his) life" when mentor Cowell revealed he had made the top three contestants in the male under 25's category.
“All of my friends and family at home think it's fantastic and they are so proud of me. Where I come from there's not really been big pop stars. I'd love to be the first person to put my town on the map." said the young singer.
But the GCSE pupil's school head tells the Northern Constitution that fame will not change the pupil that she describes as "a star".
“Eoghan is just absolutely fantastic. He is a credit to himself, his family, his school and Dungiven. Even when he arrived in school after being watched by millions he didn't act as if any thing had changed. His feet are firmly fixed on the ground and I think that's one of the things that will help him greatly throughout the competition."
Eoghan is now one step closer to pop stardom after Sunday night's ITV show which was filmed at judge Cowell's Barbados hide away.
The Dungiven lad will now compete with 12 other X-Factor hopefuls from across the UK in live televised finals due to be aired from Saturday. The 16 year old, who hopes to become the "male equivalent of Leona Lewis" will face harsh criticism as well as the public vote as he sings live to secure his place each week in the ITV show. The young singing sensation already has a huge following from all over the UK, with many fan clubs already up and running in the talented teen's honour. Eoghan's social networking fansite on Bebo has been inundated with comments, support and praise with one fan even stating; "He's true talent, he has a lush voice and he's gorgeous. Hope he wins!"
Needless to say, we at the Northern Constitution will be glued to our TV screens on Saturday night and will behind the Dungiven lad 100 percent. Good luck Eoghan!
